Representing elongated vowels

 In order to represent etymology of Ho words in orthography, three different ways to represent elongated vowels is to be employed, because there are three ways in which elongated consonants are formed in Ho. We do not give much thought  to how elongated vowels have occur in Ho, but they are not that common in other Munda languages like Mundari and Santali. Elongated vowels are a result of three factors which influence Ho phonology. In order to preserve these sources, we need to spell them differently. Below are three different reasons why we have elongated vowels, and then there are proposed spellings. 1. By omission of ड़  in old words. हाड़ाम > हाऽम, तुड़ु > तूऽ 2. By omission of h in old words. बाहा > बाऽ, साहान > साऽन 3.
